Political charged flags for me, But not for thee...
Like Death and Taxes, Leftists Mobs Working Themselves into a Frenzy
Ah, the sweet scent of fresh pencils, crisp notebooks, and leftist meltdowns in the Santa Clarita Valley. As the 2025-26 school year kicks off, the William S. Hart board is once again under fire—or should I say, under a barrage of accusations—from the usual unqualified dime-store lawyers. And honestly, it’s as predictable as the back-to-school traffic on Lyons Avenue. Would it even be a new school year if frumpy dem moms weren’t hyperventilating about something on the Hart board agenda? Lives are at stake, they claim—people might die for real this time! It’s like the multi-level marketing pitch: this time will be different, and we’ll all get rich on outrage!
So what is creating the latest existential crisis for the chronically disturbed weirdos of our local democrat coven? They are mad about an agenda item to give them exactly what they asked for, as one local dem ringleader said, “When we talk about community and safety we need to do the right thing. The right thing is to remove the flag. We should only fly the American flag. It is the flag that unifies us.” Kelly Franti posted that Hart High Cheer was 'setting an example' and 'showing us how it's done' when they made a banner that said 'One Flag, One Team, One Hart.' I don’t know about you, readers, but I feel like I just got a flyover after the national anthem. Another leftist troll that lives in the Signal comment section, Diego Vega, said, “Why are they flying any flag other than the US flag and the school banner? This is a football game, not a political rally.” Spot on—yes, now what if we replace "football game" with "classroom"? Uh oh, someone didn’t think this one through, did they? Here's the thing about rules: in order for them to be fair, they need to apply to everyone. The person who wrote these nonsensical talking points we will address in the coming paragraphs isn’t expecting alphabet people to have a different set of rules than everyone else? They aren’t that dumb, right? RIGHT?!?
Now, it wouldn't be an ASCV Substack without a little history lesson. This isn't the first time (nor will it be the last) that SCV has kicked up dust over flags. The one that jumps to mind goes back to 2014, when Assembly Bill 2444 came to the floor—this has to be the shortest piece of legislation I've ever seen; was this written via text or on a bar napkin? Then-Senator Steve Knight, who was running for Congress at the time and set to face off against fellow Republican Tony Strickland in the coming November, was one of just two lawmakers who voted against the ban. The bill's author, Isadore Hall (D-Compton), said it was sparked after his mother spotted replica Confederate money for sale—so this guy's mom gets offended? I thought they were from Compton—soft AF. And he torches state resources to "solve" this urgent matter? Talk about silly priorities. The bill zeroed in on the Confederate Battle Flag (often misnamed the Stars and Bars) but skipped the official national flags of the Confederacy, which most people couldn't identify if their lives depended on it. I guess democrats either don't want reminders of their own historical baggage, or we have fixed every real problem in California and moved on to policing replicas. Owning or displaying artifacts from either side of a conflict isn't an endorsement—it's history—and mentally airbrushing out the ugly parts does no one any good; it only gives a smug, unearned sense of accomplishment. As George Santayana wrote in his 1905 book The Life of Reason: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Knight's vote made principled sense, but politically? It was a disaster. Strickland and the democrats smeared him as a zealot dying to hoist the Confederate flag over the state capitol—a weird thing to want for a Boston guy like Knight. In the end, Simi Valley and Santa Clarita weren’t fooled by the political theater and chose Knight anyway.
"If you believe in freedom of speech, you believe in freedom of speech for views you don't like. (Nazi propagandist Paul) Goebbels was in favor of freedom of speech for views he liked. So was (Soviet dictator Joseph) Stalin. If you're in favor of freedom of speech, that means you're in favor of freedom of speech precisely for views you despise." ― Noam Chomsky, linguist and social critic.
But leftist flag freak-outs are as inevitable as bad traffic on the 405—fast-forward eight years to 2022, where the so-called "progressives" demanded unity under one flag after suffering 10-12 seconds of mild offense while watching sophomore Wyatt Hawk run onto the Saugus High football field with a Thin Blue Line flag, instead of one of their pre-approved leftist revolución banners! What is this? How dare he?! A young person who doesn’t hate the cops, doesn’t adore Che, doesn’t read Marx for fun, and isn’t obsessed over gender identity? Where is the leftist brain rot? This kid is practically a hate crime in human form. They claimed this piece of fabric made some kids feel unsafe! oh the humanity, won't somebody please think of the children?! They cried that it was a political symbol aligned with the far right and had no place at school events. The grifters were on full parade, with their self-declared grand marshal, Valerie Bradford, leading the charge under her newly minted NAACP Santa Clarita branch (which may or may not be a registered non-profit, definitely do not click here to look for it). She was stomping mad and wasn’t going to let even one black person suffer the tiniest offense. All these “fragile” other people must change their ways and do exactly as we say in this strongly worded press release that is not going to blow things out of proportion at all.
They trotted out the usual playbook: labeling the Thin Blue Line a "political message" tied to the "far right"—because these days, what isn't "far right" to these clowns? Breathing? So grown adults went out of their way to steamroll young Wyatt Hawk's right to express himself, ignoring that he was simply honoring his grandparents' decades of dedicated public service in law enforcement—his grandmother a 20-year LAPD veteran, his step-grandfather putting in 30 years on the force. These leeches, who've never given anything back to this community, were out to strip him of that right without batting an eye. Instead, they screeched about how it was spotted at January 6 and Charlottesville, forever "tainting" its meaning with hate, setting the perfect precedent for banning any symbol that offends their delicate sensibilities. Message received, loud and clear: if a flag offends, if it's a political message, if it's associated with extreme political views, it's outta here. And of course, spineless pantywaist Mike Kuhlman, the district superintendent, bent the knee faster than you can say "woke capitulation," penning some mealy-mouthed gobbledygook statement kissing the feet of the mob. How did the valley respond at the next Saugus game after his statement? The stadium was packed with people waving Thin Blue Line flags, trading one 10-12 second sighting for a full two hours of it being everywhere. The mob that Kuhlman kowtowed to managed to get one mouth breather with a sign saying "Go Home Nazis"—not very good Nazis if you can harass a stadium full and walk away in one piece. Legend has it this is when Kuhlman knew it was time to look for greener pastures. Good riddance.
But here's where it gets good—the hero didn't back down. Wyatt Hawk dared to protest peacefully, without torching a single building or blocking traffic, which absolutely sent the leftists into orbit. Valerie Bradford was beside herself, wailing that it was an "act of defiance and divisiveness"—this was definitely a racism. Oh no, not defiance and divisiveness—how dare a teenager stand up for what he believes without resorting to chaos and violence! I thought you leftists loved a mostly peaceful protest?
But these stories from the past aren't ancient history—they're a pattern with this group, where everything is an emergency, and people will literally die if you don’t do exactly what they say. We keep waiting for the emergencies, and they just never come—perhaps, and I'm just spitballing here, they are just kids, and you should leave them alone and stop acting like they are unstable sticks of nitroglycerin. Kids have survived world wars, pestilence, famines—they don’t need you hovering over them acting like you are their own personal Jesus Christ. They are never concerned with academic performance or competency in reading and math basics; they're only concerned with reproducing more good obedient leftists. Life skills be damned—let's make sure they know how to have unconventional sex. Gotta make sure kids know about butt plugs—only the best, moms, pass this valuable information on. Hey kids, did you see how to give a good blow job? That's good money on OnlyFans. I keep trying to send you the image from the book in the library, but Facebook keeps hitting me with a strike for porn. This is why you don’t see the books that groups like Moms for Liberty are fighting to take out of our schools… btw, the image above was banned even with the blurred-out sex parts posted, and still got hit with a second strike—so Meta really doesn’t want people to see what these people want our kids to see and has some explaining to do.
Now, let's dive into the meat of their outrage machine—the "dem points" they're peddling like it's the end of the world. They have some real bangers in there, like “harms students.” So if a child doesn’t constantly see a diversity flag, they are harmed? What are they like, Tinker Bell, who will die if there aren’t enough gay flags? This is your list? Are you sure you don’t want to call a friend? To which ever mouth breather wrote this gibberish, you are attempting to create people that are not ready for the world they are entering, life is not gonna nerf anyone for their sexual preference. Once again, you don’t get to whine about freedom of speech for teachers when you actively squelched a student’s freedom of speech. You are a sad, terrible person, just like Phillies Karen, trying to steal from kids to make yourself feel better.
So how can you help Tonight?
Well, email the board and let them feel that you want our schools back to move away from indoctrination and get back to educating our kids—politely, of course; let the leftists be the rude and violent ones. Leftists are raising a bunch of broken people, and we can’t allow that to happen to our kids. Hart isn’t the problem—a good portion of the kids coming to Hart and going on are mostly illiterate, and that comes down to elementary level failing by focusing on things that are not going to serve them in the long run. Sex and gender isn't important kids will figure it out on their own; leftists lie to themselves saying that they are saving lives, while creating illiterate adults who can’t function but know how to have sex has never served a society well.
So, needless to say, we respectfully disagree with the local outrage machine that the flag policy revisions are some dystopian threat—they're common-sense neutrality, and the hysteria is just more leftist theater.
