College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California has received a $6.2 million grant to develop student housing, bringing the community college one step closer to its ultimate goal of becoming a university. The move is welcomed by students facing housing hardship and foreign exchange students struggling with documentation requirements, but also raises concerns about the corruption often associated with the University of California system. Despite these concerns, the well-managed College of the Canyons remains a beacon of hope for those pursuing higher education in the Santa Clarita Valley.
California is a state that has more people than the continent of Australia, dead last in transparency, worst ratio between taxes and services received. I believe California overpaid 100 billion dollar in Taxes and they just kept it. Like all scams, Bureaucracies hides behind complexities. The next generation of heroes are people that are able to cut through that and tell the truth.
It's as if a bunch of ambitious 12-year-old boys were given sole control of the fate of the world, unlimited access to booze and porn, and approximately ten years to either wreck civilization or merely give it an ugly remodeling.
The cowboy mentality turned into the super hero mentality with no effort at all because they are the same thing just rebranded. The "We gotta do something" is literally why we are in this situation. The Swiss had it right all along, they also have caves full of actual cheese, not that sludge we had to unload 40 years ago :-)
I think we were pretty neutral on the subject. This is the direction they are heading, I would imagine that declining admission rates have probably slowed it. But they just added 3 more career programs.
Are there any businesses, universities, or NGOs in California that don't steal, "lose," or waste huge sums of money?

I saw in the budget deal that colleges now have to issue bonds to build such housing. Are you really sure this is good for SCV?
